Social media has ushered in a new set of rules in the marketing world. Rules that, when broken, can irreversibly tarnish a large company's image - or in the case of a startup, kill it entirely. It's easy to feel helpless amidst social media's 24/7 media channel, where the baton of 'lead anchor' can be passed to any one person at any given minute. Yet, as was the case with Frank Eliason and his famous Comcast Cares campaign (read here), one person in any company can make an immediate and lasting impact as well. The key, as Bubba Murarka explains in the video below, is authenticity.
Bubba Murarka is an active startup advisor and is part of Facebook’s Business & Corporate Development Team. Before Facebook, Bubba started Pocketwerks & Texame, was an EIR with Bay Partners, and ran several product teams at Microsoft.
In this talk from last year’s Silicon Valley Founder Institute, Bubba shares unique insights on leveraging social media that he's learned by working with Facebook and starting two startup companies.
