Anthony Goldbloom, Founder and CEO of Kaggle, Named 40 Under 40 for SF Business Times
Anthony Goldbloom, CEO and founder of 7th Founder Showcase champion, Kaggle Inc., has been selected as a 40 Under 40 top business leader for the San Francisco Business Times. The 40 Under 40 recognizes young professionals who have been especially successful throughout the past year in the fields of technology, real estate, banking, law, academia, cleantech, nonprofits, and government.
At the young age of 29, Anthony Goldbloom is the acts as the CEO of Kaggle Inc., a platform for data science competitions. Just months after winning the 7th Founder Showcase in 2011, Kaggle raised an $11m round led by Index Ventures and Khosla Ventures. They have since gone on to build a platform of 65,000 data scientists competing to solve the world’s most difficult problems. Kaggle’s community of scientists has worked with NASA, helped advance AIDS research, and is currently working with GE, as they aim to revolutionize flight.
A San Francisco native, Goldbloom attended the University of Melbourne, where he earned a degree in Communication. He describes himself as restless and says that when he’s not coding or leading scientists to the next greatest discovery, he enjoys kiteboarding, hanging out in Maui, and listening to audiobooks. Ambitious to the core, Goldbloom hopes that by the time he reaches forty, he will have won a Kaggle Competition of his own.
