Scott Painter is currently the Founder and CEO of TrueCar, an online automotive information and communications platform focused on creating a better car buying experience for dealers and consumers. Throughout his prolific career, Scott has started over 37 companies and has raised over $1 billion. In other words, he knows what he's talking about when it comes to entrepreneurship and venture capital. And, according to him,“fundraising is an absolute test of whether or not your business has the right to exist.”

Scott is also a Mentor at the Los Angeles Founder Institute, which is currently accepting applications until this Sunday, May 19th. Click here to apply now.

In this talk from Los Angeles Founder Institute, Scott shares insights about fundraising that every entrepreneur should know. In his opinion, raw passion, a calculated business model, and an understanding of the language of investors is imperative. It is a long video, but definitely worth the time!
