The Founder Institute, the World's Premier Startup Early-Stage Accelerator Program with over 2,000 graduate companies, is proud to announce that four of their Montreal alumni have been selected to participate at the "Taste of Techstars" event in Boulder, Colorado. 

Since its launch in 2014, the Founder Institute has contributed greatly to the Canadian startup ecosystem by helping to launch dozens of impactful new companies in Montreal, Toronto and Waterloo, while also providing mentorship from some of the top entrepreneurs in the technology industry.

Techstars Boulder has invited a small selected group of North American companies that are looking to join a Techstars Accelerator program to learn more about them. "Taste of Techstars" is a fun and intense invite-only series of workshops, mentoring office hours with Directors of Techstars Boulder and meetings with some top selected mentors, CEO alumni, and Techstars HQ Staff in Boulder (Colorado). With over 20 mentorship-driven seed-stage funding accelerator programs, Techstars exists to support the world’s most promising entrepreneurs throughout their lifelong journey.

Below are the four top "up-and-coming" Montreal Founder Institute companies selected for the "Taste of Techstars" program:

Ask Pam, Founder Pamela Alfred

Ask-Pam is a cloud-based CRM for the hospitality industry that centralizes in one platform the day-to-day Concierge operations, providing a better customer experience. It is the only platform that is tracking and analyzing Concierge performances allowing them to better connect, manage and collaborate  while optimizing the cost of customer service. Ask PAM is currently operating in 15 cities worldwide (Montreal, Toronto, New York, San Francisco, Dubai, Berlin, Accra and many others) with over 100 Concierges servicing 100k clients yearly.

Nukern, Founder Philippe Rivard

Nukern is a Software as a Service (SaaS), enabling cloud hosting resellers to do more with their time. Typical resellers are digital agencies, web development shops, etc. Nukern automates things that are needlessly complex and time-consuming for them, like the recurring billing and the account provisioning. Whether our clients resell from DigitalOcean, Rackspace or AWS, we support all platforms. Nukern is currently setting web hosting businesses on autopilot in more than 45 different countries.

HomeHunt, Founder Pierre Sabbagh

HomeHunt is an AI-powered messaging service that helps people find their next home through text message. The service is currently available by SMS and on Facebook messenger. The machine learning algorithm behind HomeHunt that processed over 17,000 interactions to date, responds to requests in under a second and can handle more than 5000 requests per minute, allowing the company to easily expand across North America.

Crema App, Founder Elyes Ben M'Rad

Crema is the new digital reward program and payment solution for coffee shops. We are providing Starbucks Coffee Technology to small independent Coffee Shops. The app gives the ability to prepay coffee plans redeemable at the best coffee shops in town. Crema is available in Montreal, New York, Toronto, San Francisco, Berlin and Paris.

Sergio A. Escobar is the Managing Director of our operations in Montreal. He has a diversified investment portfolio of companies ranging from Artificial Intelligence, Drones, Wearables, EdTech, Productivity Softwares, eCommerce, MarketPlaces, FinTech to Consumer Apps. Sergio is a tech entrepreneur having experience with Aerospace, eCommerce and Mobile Payment startups. Deeply involved in the international entrepreneurial scene through his involvement as Mentor & Judge for entrepreneurial programs such as Startup Chile, Startup Peru, Startup Bootcamp FinTech London, FI Tunisia, Kuwait National Fund and World Bank 'Tech Entrepreneurship Program for Innovation in the Caribbean'.
