Many online businesses have diversified from, or completely abandoned, ad-supported revenue models for newer, less volatile models. But, according to Nico Perez, startups still need to embrace their options and test multiple variations of revenue streams before finding one that is optimal. 

Nico is the Co-Founder of Mixcloud, an internet radio platform that helps connect audio content to listeners more effectively. 

In this talk from last year’s Brussels Founder Institute, Nico shares how he explored different revenue models and the costs associated with them as a bootstrapped company in the highly competitive, typically low-margin music space. He stresses the importance of testing multiple revenue streams, and creating viral customer acquisition strategies to keep direct costs low.
