Attracting the best talent is a necessary yet arduous challenge for startups. Although many view the hiring process as vague and subjective, as Aaron Patzer explains in the video below, “there is a rational, methodical, and repeatable way to hire people successfully.”

Aaron Patzer is the founder and CEO of the personal finance management platform Mint.com, which was acquired by Intuit in 2009 for $170 million.

Aaron is a Mentor for the Silicon Valley Founder Institute. Applications are due on Sunday June 3rd. Apply here to get expert training and feedback to launch a company in 2012.

In this talk from the Silicon Valley Founder Institute, Aaron outlines a rational methodical process to repeatedly hire great talent. He discusses who to hire and what to pay them at each stage of a company, how to hire, and where to find talent.
