The Founder Institute, the World's Largest Entrepreneur Training and Startup Launch Program, is proud to return to Toronto after a triumphant Summer 2014 semester.

The Toronto Founder Institute is the program’s second Canadian chapter, the first being Montreal. Upon arriving on the local startup scene, the Founder Institute attracted the attention of various local media channels, including BetaKit and Techvibes.

After leading an auspicious inaugural chapter, the Toronto Founder Institute’s previous Directors return for another successful semester. The Directors are: Kamal Hassan, the CEO of entrepreneurial management platform VentureLynxIlona Hassan, a fashion entrepreneur and communication specialist; and Sunil Sharma, Managing Partner of Extreme Venture Partners, one of Canada’s best performing seed-stage venture capital funds.

Graduates of the previous Toronto Founder Institute semester include:

  • Brili, a digital visual schedule for kids who have behavior challenges to help them and their parents get through their day.
  • ConferenceCloud, an integrated and interactive real time virtual attendance platform for large hybrid conferences, lectures and meeting.
  • ERNO Technologies, a mobile field solution to help construction site teams find errors and differences between the virtual design plans and on-site conditions using 3D imaging.
  • Gomma Fashion, which designs and makes high tech laser cut jewelry using medical grade silicon rubber, antiallergenic, waterproof, and lightweight.
  • Instockly, a customer satisfaction service that helps retailers ensure adequate stock on promotion and analyze online stocks.
  • Mavinlink, a platform that links affordable legal service to businesses for bad debt recovery and more, which is not tackled by collection agencies.
  • miTurf, a social and booking application that enables people to discover and reserve sporting facilities and connect with like-minded people around them.
  • RefinePro, which enables users to clean, reformat, group, or merge datasets, as easily as using Excel, to keep them updated and useful.
  • TurnKii, an online a platform for self- managing property landlords to access repair and maintenance management services on demand.
  • Uplifter Labs, a brain-training application to help people think positively and increase a sense of happiness.
