Calling for Partners to Build the World’s Largest Support Network for Food and Agri Startups with Purpose and Impact

August 2nd, 2021 -  Palo Alto, CA, Helsinki, Finland, Zürich, Switzerland and Tel Aviv, Israel – The Founder Institute (https://fi.co), the world’s largest pre-seed accelerator, is launching a global initiative to create the world’s largest and most impactful support network for food and agri tech founders, to enable problem solving and systemic change that supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

All 17 UN SDGs relate to the Global Food System. Hunger, nutrition, food waste, health, education, sustainable farming, poverty, and food logistics - they all need startups to drive systemic change and solve complex problems.

The base of the initiative is the renowned systematic program structure of the Founder Institute, which is customized specifically for the food tech ecosystem, supported by a global pool of expert mentors and a network of angel investors, venture capitalists, and corporations with a relationship to the food ecosystem.

This evolution follows the Founder Institute’s earlier strategic initiatives to have 80% of its portfolio startups aligned with UN SDGs (https://fi.co/progress) and to create 1000 new venture funds (https://GoVCLab.com). The development of the Food Ecosystems program has been piloted by the Global Center of Excellence for Food Ecosystems since 2019.

The Founder Institute is now calling all organizations with shared goals to join the network that will create the support structure for the 1000 problem-solving startups. The initiative needs support from accelerators, incubators, business angels, VCs, corporations and academia.

Our strategic initiatives to make our planet survive have been successful and people all around the world have joined us in our mission,

notes Adeo Ressi, Founder & CEO of the Founder Institute,

Now it’s time to add food and agriculture to this pool. Our pilot programs from the past couple of years show clearly how we need to put more speed and effort into solving these problems on a planetary level.

This global initiative is driven by the multinational team of FI’s Food Ecosystems Accelerator. For more information on partnering with the program, please contact
