CBS News New York Reports on the Growing Popularity of Zirtual Assistants
Earlier this week, soon-to-be Las Vegas based startup, Zirtual was featured on a segment of CBS local news in New York. The report highlighted the growing popularity of virtual assistants, and explained how the luxury of having a personal assistant is no longer reserved for the rich and famous. Zirtual, a graduate of the Silicon Valley Founder Institute, pairs busy professionals with virtual assistants based on their monthly needs. According to the CBS report, Zirtual assistants can earn anywhere from $6 to $20 per hour and are expected to complete a variety of tasks, such as scheduling appointments and answering emails, all from a remote location.
New York resident and Zirtual assistant, Joanna Cohen has two clients in California. She says, “I do research, I do travel arrangements, and I manage their calendars and their schedules.” In regards to the typical client, Cohen remarks, “it’s people in any walk of life in any situation...it's not just that top exec who has all the money in the world.”
When surveying people on the street, many passersby agreed that having a virtual assistant would free up time and allow them to better manage their personal and or business lives. Local spa owner Olya Piccirillo says, “I could accomplish much more. I would have more time on my hands, so I could do things I enjoy more.”
