The Founder Institute is proud to partner with DNA Cascais, a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering and empowering young entrepreneurs in Cascais. DNA Cascais aims to develop essential skills and knowledge by stimulating creativity and innovation in an entrepreneurial environment.
DNA Cascais was conceived in 2006 when the Cascais Municipality identified a market failure concerning the support to promote investments in new businesses. Because of this, many local entrepreneurs were not able to breathe life into their potentially lucrative startup ideas. Also, those interested in venturing into the world of entrepreneurship, as well as Cascais as a whole, were not aware of the importance of creativity and innovation in the local business community.
Since its creation in 2006, DNA Cascais has lent support to nearly 200 new businesses, representing about 21 million euros of initial investment and consisting of almost 600 new jobs. With the Founder Institute’s vast resources and expertise on its side, DNA Cascais hopes to bring more startup experts to Portugal, and attract more investors from around the world.
