Based in Silicon Valley and with chapters across 85 cities and 40 countries, the Founder Institute has helped launch over 1,310 companies, which have created over 10,000+ new jobs. The company's mission is to “Globalize Silicon Valley” and create sustainable startup ecosystems that will create one million new jobs worldwide.

If you'd like to help bring a semester to San Jose, then fill out an Interest Form. If enough people complete this form by Sunday, August 17th 2014, then the Founder Institute will formally launch a San Jose program.

The Founder Institute is a part-time, four-month program where promising entrepreneurs can “learn by doing” and launch a company through structured training courses and expert feedback from business mentors. Plus, you are not required to quit your day job to participate, so you can begin building a business around your ideas without putting your livelihood at risk.

In order to test demand for a San Jose program, the Founder Institute will host several free startup events;

Costa Rica has established itself as a technology and innovation hub in Latin America. The country has an abundance of technical talent -- but building technology is very different from building a technology business.

The Founder Institute can help the country’s highly skilled workforce gain the knowledge, network, and globally-minded training needed to build meaningful companies of their own.” - Adeo Ressi, Founder & CEO of the Founder Institute

Leading the Founder Institute’s efforts in San Jose are Ignacio Castro, Vivian Arias, and Randall Trejos. Ignacio Castro is a passionate entrepreneur and tech executive who is living abroad but working hard to support the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Costa Rica. Vivian Arias is a member of the founding team of Yo Emprendedor, and is actively involved in the startup ecosystem as a lead organizer of events like Startup Weekend, Bootcamps and others. Randall Trejos is an entrepreneur and business development consultant -- someone that has walked the path of starting businesses from scratch, a combination of street smarts and book smarts.
