Join our friends at BBVA as they host a special event that promotes and supports projects by entrepreneurs from around the globe: BBVA Open Talent 2014.

Now in its sixth edition, this year’s event features three competitions - BBVA Open Talent Europe, BBVA Open Talent Central-South America, and BBVA Open Talent North America - which serve as the bases for each of the different geographic editions.

June 10 is the last day to apply for the BBVA Open Talent competition. Click here for more information.

As BBVA aims to shift the emphasis to startups innovating in the finance and banking sector, two new categories have been added: Digital Life and New Banking. Each edition will have ten finalists in each category, from which two winners will be selected, one for each category in each regional edition, along with two runners-up. Finally, there will be a popular vote among the 60 shortlisted projects in all three editions to choose one further project.

The 13 prizewinners will have the opportunity to spend a week at the Crash Acceleration program in New York.

BBVA Open Talent is not only about prizes, it forms part of BBVA's strategy, and detects talent and potential for innovation that can help us spot and stimulate talent; in other words, promote talent and benefit from it.” - Reyes Bolumar, Innovation Marketing Manager at BBVA and the head of BBVA Open Talent

The deadline to apply is June 10. For more information on BBVA Open Talent 2014, be sure to check out their official website.
