Posted by Jonathan Greechan on 2014-04-15

The Founder Showcase, hosted by TheFunded.com and the Founder Institute, is Silicon Valley's leading seed-stage startup event.

In our 14-event history, we've been truly honored by some of the names who have graced our stage, such as Elon MuskDavid Sacks, and Phil Libin. Today, we are excited to annouce the first luminary speaker for the next Founder Showcase, taking place on May 15th: Scott Painter, Founder & CEO of TrueCar

If you don't know TrueCar, then you haven't been paying attention. TrueCar is a leading automotive intelligence company that democratizes car pricing information and empowers consumers to buy a car at a fair price. The company truly disrupted the auto industry, facilitating over 400,000 car sales last year. As a result, the company filed for an IPO just two weeks ago.

In addition to TrueCar;

Scott Painter has started 37 companies and raised over $1.25 billion in venture capital.

Previously, he was the Founder & CEO of CarsDirect.com, an early advisor to Tesla, an IdeaLab CEO and an eCompanies CEO, and his other ventures include Advertise.com, SharesPost, PriceLock, US Digital Gaming, Zag.com and Brighthouse.

Scott is just the first speaker for the 15th Founder Showcase, and we will be announcing several more in coming weeks.

Early-Bird tickets are available until April 25th: Get yours today

Now in its 15th edition, the Founder Showcase is a bi-annual seed-startup event that gathers over 400 startup investors, founders, and press in Silicon Valley to hear from startup experts, and see promising seed-stage companies. In addition to getting the best speakers, we pride ourselves on showcasing the best early-stage companies before anyone else (pun intended). Past contestants have raised over $130 million, and we have showcased companies like UdemyRelay RidesThumbtack, and Kaggle in their infancy. To see the list of all notable companies that have presented, see our Founder Showcase Hall of Fame here.

We look forward to hearing more from Scott on May 15th. Get your tickets today.
