This week, Whale Path, a company that provides custom, on-demand business research, released a research report entitled Do Employers Really Know How To Find Their Talents? that highlights some major disconnects between hiring managers and low-income job seekers.

Among their findings is the fact that only 7% of jobs that pay below $25/hr or less are filled online. Another 46% comes from personal networking and referrals. However, hiring managers are increasingly relying on free internet classifieds like Craigslist to find new employees.

One key takeaway is that, while career fairs can be prohibitively expensive, career centers are still a critical job search tool for up to 80% of job seekers.

Whale Path, which was Co-Founded by Artem Gassen and Colin Gu, is a Graduate of the Silicon Valley Founder Institute
