In this inspiring talk, Next Jump Co-Founder, Meghan Messenger, shares how she maintains a work-life balance while running a major New York e-commerce company. From her early days as a junior employee fresh out of college, Meghan helped CEO Charlie Kim grow Next Jump in to the rewards and loyalty programs company it is today.

When she became the mother to little boy with special needs, everything changed. Her priorities quickly shifted, which meant restructuring her life to meet the demands of her family and her job. Soon came baby number two, and more changes ensued. Meghan had to dig deep and figure out the best plan for herself and her family. She came to this realization: “I work hard to be my best self so that I can take care of others.”

Meghan’s story teaches us that with each new challenge comes growth. “Having kids made me realize how important work was for me,” she says. “Not pushing your comfort zone is like slowly dying.”

To conclude her talk, she leaves us with this quote from her mentor, Jim Loehr:

High achievers give up everything to be good at one thing. This is not true. They kill it at work, they kill it with their spouse, they kill it with their kids. They kill it in multiple areas. They have a balanced life.”
