The Founder Institute, the world's premier startup launch program, is preparing to launch a very promising Washington DC Fall 2024 Semester.

Sunday (Jun 09, 2024) is the Early Application Deadline. If you apply by Sunday, you get to take the Predictive Admissions Test for free ($50 value), and if you enroll by the Early Deadline you are also eligible to receive one of several Founder Institute Fellowships.

There are a number of Fellowships available for the Washington DC Fall 2024 program, which provide the opportunity for promising founders to launch a company in our idea-stage startup accelerator, free of charge.

The Girls in Tech Fellowship is awarded to the most extraordinary technical female applicant for each semester, giving them the opportunity to participate in the Founder Institute for free. The recipient will be recognized as a female with the utmost potential to become a successful technology entrepreneur.


The Founder Institute is committed to narrowing the gender gap in high tech startups, and in order to empower more females to launch technology companies, we have partnered with Girls in Tech, a global non-profit focused on the engagement, education and empowerment of women passionate about technology. Learn more about the Girls in Tech Fellowship program here


Eligibility: In order to be eligible for the Girls in Tech Fellowship for the upcoming semester, you must complete your application, be accepted to the program, and submit your payment by the Early Deadline listed on the top of this page. Any female who follows these guidelines will be automatically eligible - no further steps are required. 


Grant: The Girls in Tech Fellowship is awarded to the most extraordinary female applicant for each semester. The recipient will be awarded and notified within 5 days after the Early Admissions Deadline, and they will receive a full refund on their Course Fee within 1 week of the program start date. All applicants will be notified via email when the Fellowships are awarded.

Through the Startup Our Veterans Fellowship, any U.S. veteran or service member who wants to start a technology company can apply to a U.S. Founder Institute chapter for free, and the best overall applicant from Washington DC will be invited to participate in the Founder Institute's step-by-step startup launch program for free as well.


Veterans and active service members possess the work ethic, high character, and strong leadership skills needed to launch meaningful and enduring technology companies. To inspire and enable the military community to build technology companies, the Founder Institute has partnered with Vet-Tech, the nation's leading startup accelerator for military veterans, to offer the "Startup Our Veterans" Fellowship.

Through this Fellowship, any U.S. veteran or service member who wants to start a technology company can apply to a U.S. Founder Institute chapter for free, and the best overall applicant from will be invited to participate in the Founder Institute's step-by-step startup launch program for free as well.

Grant: The recipient of the Startup Our Veterans Fellowship will be awarded within 5 days after the deadline.

The Technical Founder Fellowship is awarded to the most extraordinary applicant for each semester with a strong technical background, giving them the opportunity to participate in the Founder Institute for free. The recipient will be recognized as a highly technical person with the utmost potential to become a successful technology entrepreneur.


The Founder Institute provides aspiring entrepreneurs the training and step-by-step guidance they need to launch a meaningful technology company.

In order to empower technical "all-stars" to start their own companies and tackle meaningful problems, the Founder Institute awards the Technical Founder Fellowship to the most extraordinary technical applicant from each semester, giving them the opportunity to participate in the Founder Institute for free. Learn more about the Technical Founder Fellowship program here


Eligibility: In order to be eligible for the Technical Founder Fellowship for the upcoming semester, you must complete your application, be accepted to the program, and submit your payment by the Early Application Deadline listed on top of this page. The CONNECTPreneur Fellowship is awarded to the most extraordinary applicant from the  CONNECTPreneur Community, giving them the opportunity to enroll in the Founder Institute for free. The recipient will be recognized as somebody with the utmost potential to become a successful technology entrepreneur.


The Founder Institute is excited to partner with an organization that shares our goal of fostering a strong local startup ecosystem: CONNECTPreneur, a quarterly forum of 350+ top IT entrepreneurs and investors in greater Washington DC region. Through the CONNECTPreneur Fellowship, everyone from the CONNECTPreneur community is invited to apply to the Founder Institute for free, and the best overall applicant from the community will receive a Fellowship to participate in the program for free as well ($1,650 value).


Eligibility: In order to be eligible for the CONNECTPreneur Fellowship for the Semester, you must complete your application and admissions test by April 3, 2016, using this link.


Grant: The recipient of the CONNECTPreneur Fellowship will be awarded within 5 days after the deadline.
