Each year, The Founder Institute helps launch dozens of technology companies across the globe. Once founders graduate from our 4-month program, they quickly begin using techniques like crowdfunding campaigns to drum up interest and obtain funding.

To help further their efforts, we’ve introduced the series, “Crowdfunding Pick of The Week,” designed to showcase the most promising Founder Institute Graduates in our community. Stay tuned, you may be the first to discover the next BIG product, application, or software.

Easy Aerial, a New York Founder Institute graduate, has recently launched a Kickstarter campaign for their newest addition to the Easy Drone, the Easy Drone XL Pro. This is their second time on Kickstarter with a new and updated drone that has been improved upon from the previous version with testing and feedback.

The Easy Drone XL Pro has the following features:

  • 45 minutes of airtime
  • 28 inch framesize
  • fits in a backpack
  • lifts a pro camera

Easy Drone’s frame is made from carbon fiber and aluminum and is extremely rigid, yet it can be taken apart completely without tools and carried in a small backpack. Because of the modular design it is very convenient for transportation. Easy Drone has the largest frame size relative to travel pack, flight time and lift capacity on the market. It could provide various applications to many industries.

The maker of Easy Drone, Easy Aerial, is an up and coming modular drone design company. They have already built a bit of a name for themselves with the consumer version of Easy Drone that did really well on Kickstarter. They have also been featured on AlleyWatchInsertCoin, InterDrone, TechDay 2015, Maker Faire.

Easy Aerial is looking to move into the commercial drone application space and offer turn-key solutions for different industries by partnering with companies that provide data processing like NDVI images, mapping, 3D modeling, etc.

The most attractive industries for them are agriculture, first responders and professional videography. These industries are predicted to reach combined over $80 billion in the next decade, with agriculture alone accounting for 85% of that.
