In this talk from the Sydney Founder Institute, Tom Frazier explains the importance of doing thorough and thoughtful research before launching your product. He says, startups are built through experimentation, and instead of building, say, shoe umbrellas, test your market and make sure there is a demand for your product.

Tom Frazier is a serial entrepreneur and the CEO of HotHouse Interactive. He is also a director and mentor for the Sydney Founder Institute, which is currently accepting applications for the 2013 Spring Semester.

Additionally, Tom advises startup founders to focus on building from the bottom up, and looking at the viral coefficient. The trick is not to die. Will your startup make it past the early adopters phase?
