This Week's Must-Read Articles for Entrepreneurs

Posted by Jonathan Greechan on 2013-06-02

Each week we scour the web for insightful articles to share with the Founder Institute network.

This week's top articles include important advice from Richard Branson, how to use kickstarter to innovate, and Adeo Ressi's findings on Entrepreneurial DNA.

Check out our must read articles for the week of May 26th - June 2nd:

Richard Branson on the Secret to Success: Failure.
At the annual Sunday Times Fast Track 100, I found myself going back to basics: the three key attributes that can make a real difference to a person's career. While I've touched on these points before, some of the entrepreneurs' stories highlighted them in new ways. If you have these basics down, you can give your risky idea a go with more confidence that you're prepared to ride out any trying times ahead.
Are Entrepreneurs Born or Made? Adeo Ressi's Data Say "Sort Of"
Thanks largely to an hour-long personality test every Founder Institute entrepreneur must take, FI founder and CEO Adeo Ressi has gathered enough data to determine how successful any one person will be -- with 85-86% accuracy. FI currently has programs in 40 cities across 24 countries.
Richard Branson: It Doesn't Cost Much to Start a Great Business
Think you need buckets of cash to launch a business?

Think again, says serial entrepreneur and Virgin Group founder Richard Branson. “A business can be started with very little money."
Why Your Company Should Use the Kickstarter Model to Innovate
In an impressively short time, Kickstarter has quickly become the go-to high-impact mashup of crowdsourcing sensibility and entrepreneurial endeavor. If you've got a genuinely creative idea — or even a "me, too with a twist" — Kickstarter's "crowd funding" platform offers a genuinely innovative way to finance creativity and innovation. Since its 2009 launch, Kickstarter claims that more than 4.1 million people have pledged over $619 million to fund over 41,000 projects. It's exciting.
