Fundraising can be a daunting and sometimes overwhelming task. The process of meeting with investors, reading term sheets, and giving up equity isn’t always fun, however, often times VC money is a key ingredient to startup success. In this talk from the Medellin Founder Institute, Wim Vernaeve gives tips on how to get the most out of investor meetings, what to focus on during your presentation, equity allocation, and more.

Wim is a founding partner of Green Park Investment Partners, a deal based investment fund based in Belgium. Wim is also a top rated mentor for the Medellin Founder Institute, which is currently accepting applications for the Summer Semester.

Although he advises founders to use caution when giving away equity, Wim says, “raise as much money as possible - you will always need more than expected. And whatever your plans are, start today”.

If you like the video below and could benefit from expert training and feedback to launch a startup in Medellin, apply now for the Medellin Founder Institute. Final applications are due Sunday, May 19th.  Click here to apply today.
