Female Founder Fellowship

The Female Founder Fellowship is awarded to the most extraordinary female applicant for each semester, giving them the opportunity to participate in the Founder Institute for free. The recipient will be recognized as a female with the utmost potential to become a successful technology entrepreneur.

The Founder Institute is committed to narrowing the gender gap in high tech startups. When we announced the Female Founder Fellowship program in 2011, only 16% of Founder Institute companies were founded by females. Since then, the results of this program have been astounding, as our overall number of female-founded companies has more than doubled, to a total of approximately 33%. This is more than twice as high as most other startup programs. Learn more about the Female Founder Fellowship program here

Eligibility: In order to be eligible for the Female Founder Fellowship for the upcoming semester, you must complete your application, be accepted to the program, and submit your payment by the Early Deadline listed on the top of this page. Any female who follows these guidelines will be automatically eligible - no further steps are required.

Grant: The Female Founder Fellowship is awarded to the most extraordinary female applicant for each semester. The recipient will be awarded and notified within 5 days after the Early Admissions Deadline, and they will receive a full refund on their Course Fee within 1 week of the program start date. All applicants will be notified via email when the Fellowships are awarded.

Ben Narasin of Triple Point Capital Joins 13th Founder Showcase Judging Panel

Posted by Jonathan Greechan on 2013-03-21

We are excited to announce the fourth judge to join our Founder Showcase investor panel, Ben Narasin of Triple Point Capital. On Wednesday, March 27th, Ben will join Paul Bragiel (i/o Ventures), Alex Gurevich (Javelin Venture Partners) and Jon Soberg (Blumberg Capital) on stage, as we help launch several early-stage startups to greatness.

Ben Narasin serves as President of Seed Stage Investments and oversees seed funding investment activities at TriplePoint Ventures. Most recently, Mr. Narasin, an entrepreneur since the age of twelve, spent much of the early 2000s acquiring companies in the consumer Internet and e-commerce industries and providing liquidity to shareholders. When not overseeing investment activities, Mr. Narasin manages to be a freelance food and wine writer, a lifelong passion. Mr. Narasin’s works have appeared in numerous publications including San Francisco Chronicle, Wine Enthusiast, Wine News, Health Magazine and various other consumer trade magazines. Mr. Narasin holds a B.A. in Entrepreneurial Studies from Babson College.

According to a company Ben has invested in, "Ben has been an awesome investor. Honest and direct, but also very caring. If you want someone who will tell you the truth and give you good advice, Ben is the person to go to. He's been an entrepreneur before, so he knows what we are going through."

The 13th Founder Showcase is scheduled to take place on March 27th at the Microsoft Campus in Mountain View. In addition to the entertaining pitch competition, guests will hear keynote speakers Chris Dixon (Andreessen Horowitz) and Keith Rabois (Khosla Ventures) share their opinions on the "Future of Funding".

Tickets are still available but are selling quickly. Click here to purchase yours today. In the meantime, to hear more from Ben, follow him on Twitter @BNarasin.
