To mark the graduation of our most recent class of Los Angeles founders, Jay Samit addressed the class with a speech outlining his 10 best Startup Secrets. In the talk, Samit reveals priceless advice for anyone around the globe thinking of launching a business or looking to pivot their company.

Jay Samit is one of the world's most successful digital media innovators. Throughout his career he has pioneered advancements in music and video distribution, social media and ecommerce. Currently the president of ooVoo, Samit has also worked with major media companies like Sony, Capitol Records, Universal Studios, and Jasmine Multimedia Publishing, which he founded in the early 1980s. He has been called the “guru for the entire industry” by Variety and the “guy with the coolest job in the industry”, according to Wired.

Jay’s list is an invaluable resource for entrepreneurs of all kinds; the video below is a must watch for anyone interested in business, marketing, and starting up.

If you are interested in working with mentors like Jay, apply to the Los Angeles and San Diego chapters, which are both accepting applications for the Spring Semester. Those who apply by Sunday, March 10th are elligible for Founder Institute Fellowships and will have application fees waived.
