Denver Founder Institute graduate, TAGster recently participated in Denver New Tech, one of Denver’s top startup pitching events. Alongside 5 other local startups, Tagster pitched to a large audience of tech enthusiasts and received feedback to further refine their product and messaging. Built in Denver journalist, Carlin Sack, featured TAGster in her first of 5 New Tech company profiles for her Denver New Tech Series.

In the interview, TAGgster CEO Josh Pierce describes the company as a “free service that gives lost objects, people, and pets a way back home through the use of uniquely ID’d tags and a back-end system that instantly notifies the owner”. Items like car keys, cell phones, credit cards, and even toddlers can have a tag of their own, and when that item (or child) gets lost, a simple QR code scan will anonymously link the finder and the owner.

The concept came into play after Pierce entered fatherhood and began noticing an increase in everyday items getting lost. He felt that brands “needed a white label solution to add lost-and-found technology to their existing products and services”. Having already partnered with major brands like Subaru and Boulder Running Company, TAGster plans to introduce their system to retail stores in about two months.
