Founder Institute Fellowships

The Founder Institute offers a number of different Fellowships, providing opportunity for promising founders to launch a company in our startup accelerator program, free of charge.

See the list of Fellowships being offered for the New York Fall 2015 Semester below, and be sure to apply by the Early Admissions Deadline of 2015-10-04 to be eligible for all fellowships.

 


The Vet-Tech Veteran's Fellowship is awarded to the most extraordinary military veteran who applies to the New York Founder Institute ProgramThe recipient will be recognized as a veteran with the utmost potential to become a succesful technology entrepreneur and will receive a Fellowship to participate in the Founder Institute's world-renowned program for free ($1700 value).

In addition, upon graduating from the Founder Institute, the Veteran will be accepted into Vet-Tech, the nation's leading startup accelerator for military veterans, headquartered in Silicon Valley.


Eligibility: In order to be eligible for the "Vet-Tech Veteran's Fellowship" for the New York Fall 2015 Semester, you must complete your application and Admissions Test by the Early Application Deadline of 2015-10-04. Anyone with a technical background who follows those guidelines will be automatically eligible - no further steps are required. 


Grant: The recipient of the "Vet-Tech Veteran's Fellowship" will be awarded within 5 days after the Early Admissions Deadline 2015-10-04. All applicants will be notified via email when the Fellowships are awarded.

The Next Jump Better Me + Better You = Better Us Fellowship is awarded to the most promising applicant in NYC, giving them the opportunity to enroll in the Founder Institute for free (a $1700 value). The recipient will be recognized as somebody in New York with the utmost potential to become a successful technology entrepreneur.


Next Jump's mission is to change the world by changing workplace culture. The Founder Institute is excited to partner with Next Jump to encourage innovation in areas of Health and Wellness, Education and giving back to impact workplace culture globally.


Eligibility: In order to be eligible for the Better Me + Better You = Better Us Fellowship for the New York Fall 2015 Semester, you must complete your application and Admissions Test by the Early Application Deadline of 11:59 PM on 2015-10-04 through the link below. In addition, please include the name or group at Next Jump that invited you to apply for the fellowship.


Grant: The recipient of the Better Me + Better You = Better Us Fellowship will be awarded within 5 days after the Early Admissions Deadline 2015-10-04. All applicants will be notified via email when the Fellowships are awarded.

The NYTechMeetUp Fellowship is awarded to an extraordinary applicant for each chapter with a strong background in technology, giving them the opportunity to enroll in the Founder Institute for free ($1700 value). The recipient will be recognized as somebody in New York with the utmost potential to become a successful technology entrepreneur.


The NYTechMeetUp is the largest meetup group in the world and a non-profit organization representing professionals from all parts of the New York technology community.


Eligibility: In order to be eligible for the NYTechMeetUp Fellowship for the New York Fall 2015 Semester, you must complete your application and Admissions Test by the Early Application Deadline of 11:59 PM on 2015-10-04 through the link below. 


Grant: The recipient of the NYTechMeetUp Fellowship will be awarded within 5 days after the Early Admissions Deadline 2015-10-04. All applicants will be notified via email when the Fellowships are awarded.

The Gay Tech Meetup NYC Fellowship is awarded to the most fabulous applicant from the Gay Tech community, giving them the opportunity to enroll in the Founder Institute for free ($1700 value). The recipient will be recognized as somebody in New York with the utmost potential to become a successful technology entrepreneur.


The Gay Tech Meetup NYC celebrates the many contributions the LGBTQ community makes to the tech industry.


Eligibility: In order to be eligible for the Gay Tech Meetup NYC Fellowship for the New York Fall 2015 Semester, you must complete your application and Admissions Test by the Early Application Deadline of 11:59 PM on 2015-10-04 through the link below.

The Latino Startup Alliance Fellowship is awarded to the most extraordinary Latino who applies to the New York Founder Institute ProgramThe recipient will be recognized as a person with the utmost potential to become a succesful technology entrepreneur and will receive a Fellowship to participate in the Founder Institute's world-renowned program for free ($1700 value)

The Black Founders' Fellowship is awarded to the most extraordinary African American who applies to the New York Founder Institute ProgramThe recipient will be recognized as a person with the utmost potential to become a succesful technology entrepreneur and will receive a Fellowship to participate in the Founder Institute's world-renowned program for free.

Black Founders is an organization whose mission is to deepen the pipeline of minority tech talent and increase the number of successful black entrepreneurs in tech. FInd out more here.

The Female Founder Fellowship is awarded to the most extraordinary female applicant for each chapter, giving them the opportunity to enroll in the Founder Institute for free. The recipient will be recognized as a female with the utmost potential to become a successful technology entrepreneur.


The Founder Institute is committed to narrowing the gender gap in high tech startups. When we announced the Female Founder Fellowship program in 2011, only 16% of Founder Institute companies were founded by females. Since then, the results of this program have been astounding, as our overall number of female-founded companies has more than doubled, to a total of approximately 33%. The Technical Founder Fellowship is awarded to the most extraordinary applicant for each chapter with a strong technical background, giving them the opportunity to enroll in the Founder Institute for free. The recipient will be recognized as somebody in New York with the utmost potential to become a successful technology entrepreneur.


The Founder Institute provides aspiring entrepreneurs the training and step-by-step guidance they need to launch a meaningful technology company.

In order to empower technical "all-stars" to start their own companies and tackle meaningful problems, the Founder Institute awards the Technical Founder Fellowship to the most extraordinary technical applicant from each semester, giving them the opportunity to participate in the Founder Institute for free ($1700 USD value). Learn more about the Technical Founder Fellowship program here
