Founder Institute Fellowships

The Founder Institute offers a number of different Fellowships, providing opportunity for promising founders to launch a company in our startup accelerator program, free of charge.

The Startup Blueprint Scholarship is awarded to the most extraordinary applicant in Silicon Valley, giving them the opportunity to enroll in the Founder Institute for free. The recipient will be recognized as somebody with the utmost potential to become a successful technology entrepreneur.


The Founder Institute is excited to partner with a program that shares our mission of helping aspiring entrepreneurs: PayPal Startup Blueprint, a global program that provides innovative startups with tools needed to grow and succeed. Through the Startup Blueprint Scholarship, the best overall applicant to Silicon Valley will receive a Fellowship to participate in the program for free. In addition, as part of this partnership, the Founder Institute and PayPal are awarding $1,000 USD towards incorporation and other business expenses for company with the most innovative monetization idea after the midway point in the Fall Semester. 


Eligibility: In order to be eligible for Startup Blueprint Scholarship for the Silicon Valley Fall 2014 Semester, you must apply at http://FI.co/join/FS-Blueprint. In addition, in your application you should write one paragraph on your monetization ideas in the application under the section entitled "Field 2: Provide 2-4 paragraphs on a field that you are passionate about”, and include the term "Startup Blueprint" at the top of your answer. Then, our admissions team will review your work and let you know the decision within a few days of the Final Application Deadline (2014-10-26).  


Grant: The recipient of the Startup Blueprint Schoalrship will be awarded within a few days of the Final Application Deadline (2014-10-26).

The Female Founder Fellowship is awarded to the most extraordinary female applicant for each chapter, giving them the opportunity to enroll in the Founder Institute for free. The recipient will be recognized as a female with the utmost potential to become a successful technology entrepreneur.


The Founder Institute is committed to narrowing the gender gap in high tech startups. When we announced the Female Founder Fellowship program in 2011, only 16% of Founder Institute companies were founded by females. Since then, the results of this program have been astounding, as our overall number of female-founded companies has increased over 70%, to a total of approximately 35%. Eligibility: In order to be eligible for the Female Founder Fellowship for the Silicon Valley Autumn 2014 Semester, you must complete your application and Admissions Test by the Early Application Deadline of 11:59 PM on 2014-10-12. Any female who follows those guidelines will be automatically eligible - no further steps are required.


Grant: The recipient of the Female Founder Fellowship will be awarded within 5 days after the Early Admissions Deadline.

The Technical Founder Fellowship is awarded to the most extraordinary applicant for each chapter with a strong technical background, giving them the opportunity to enroll in the Founder Institute for free. The recipient will be recognized as somebody with the utmost potential to become a successful technology entrepreneur.


Eligibility: In order to be eligible for the Technical Founder Fellowship for the Silicon Valley Autumn 2014 Semester, you must complete your application and Admissions Test by the Early Application Deadline of 11:59 PM on 2014-10-12. Anyone who follows those guidelines will be automatically eligible - no further steps are required.


Grant: The recipient of the Technical Founder Fellowship will be awarded within 5 days after the Early Admissions Deadline.
